Administration

To ensure that the original ideals of social service to the Apuanu Item people and their neighbors are strictly maintained at all times, the donor, Sir Ndukwe Osogho-Ajala, has handed over the hospital to the Methodist Church. The prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Sunday Mbang personally dedicated the hospital on November 6, 2001.
It is expected that the Wesley Guild and other humanitarian agencies will assist by sending qualified doctors, other medical experts, and drugs to the hospital. Explaining the dire needs of the people, Ndukwe said “even in this century, my people are still being forced by lack of nearby hospital and good roads, to deliver their babies at home. If the labour commences in the afternoon when none of the traditional midwives are at home, the urgent message is sent to the farms. This has led to the untimely death of uncountable babies and women. It is that bad.”
